Protection of personal data is, and will always be, a hot topic at ContactCare. Today is Privacy Day. Each February, ContactCare gives extra attention to this trending subject.
On 28 January 1981, the Data Protection Convention was signed. This treaty laid the foundation for European privacy protection (GDPR), which aims to better protect citizens' personal data. Privacy Day was established in 2007 by the Council of Europe with support from the European Commission.
Privacy Day primarily focuses on informing us about the rights we have under the GDPR and its earlier national predecessors. Companies and organisations are also encouraged on this day to improve personal data protection.
Annual Increased Awareness
We pay a lot of attention to raising awareness among our employees. Besides, we find it important to devote extra attention to data protection each February around Privacy Day. All our staff are reminded of the key points. This is not only about handling others' data responsibly. We also think it's important for employees to understand the importance of wisely managing their own data and its protection. Additionally, during operations, we focus extra attention on our screens and team channels.
Training & Testing on GDPR
All our employees receive thorough training on the GDPR. Here, they learn what is allowed and, importantly, what is not. A significant part of the course involves showing how the legislation protects employees themselves and how easy it can sometimes be to “break in”. We also teach them what to do if they suspect something is not right.
Furthermore, customer service employees need to learn how to properly ask for consent to store data.
We also provide this training to external organisations that benefit from a robust GDPR policy.

Data must be easy to delete, modify, or extract. We have been specialising for years in smart data storage, categorisation, and application of customer data. Additionally, we map customer journeys and can adjust them to ensure compliance with the GDPR. Our Intelligence Tools also make the transition to GDPR much easier.
